Warning: Do Not Buy From Super Cheap Computers Ltd

Saturday 20th May 2006 | by chris [mail] | Categories: GENERAL

Do not buy anything from SupercheapPC, aka Supercheappc.biz, aka Super Cheap PC aka Super Cheap Computers Limited. I made the mistake of buying from them a few times, but never again. Not only did they deliver what I didn't want, they conveniently have lost the returned item (claiming it never turned up, but will not respond to an enquiry by the Post Office), and won't even refund me the difference between the item I paid for and the item they delivered. I will be taking these wankers to court. They may be cheap, but if something goes wrong with either the product or the order you may be spending the extra $30 (plus your time) to sue these retards.

Follow up:

I'm not the only one to have been scammed by supercheappc.biz

Comments: About the only thing going for them is their prices. I have dealt with them on three separate occasions and every time they have stuffed something up. Firstly they sent me the wrong stock on my first order, and then completely messed up the returns process. They are still trying to bill me for products I never received.

On my next order they neglected to tell me something was out of stock for a week, and then gave me a bogus track & trace number to get rid of me.

In my last order, they did not answer any of my emails, and they certainly dont answer the phone. I sat on the phone for about 45 minutes and it just kept ringing.

When I finally received confirmation my order had been sent, they didn't include the suburb in my address, even though I had clearly advised this needed to be included. This resulted in the package going to the completely wrong address, and me wasting hours of my time chasing this up with Courier Post.

Do yourself a favour. Deal with Paradigm PC's. Super Cheaps prices aren't worth the hassle.

Comments: I have delt successfully once prior to this order. It seems i was lucky to have all the parts i ordered in stock. But this was not th case this time.

Ordered a cpu, 512 ram, dialup modem. Deposited the money, cpu was unavailable with no ETA so i followed their reccomendations in purchasing the 2700XP. After i deposited the extra amount i found out 1 week later that the cpu was also unavailable. Then waited a month (christmas/new yr break) to find out that they still had no ETA. Asked them to send the remainder of the order and refund the money for the cpu. Still have not recieved a reply for a week. Total duration of incomplete order = 6.5 weeks. With around 2 days -1 week+ for a reply from my queries.

Comments: Extremely dodgey. Ordered a video card online and paid them via direct credit. Cancelled order next day and took them a week for them to reply saying they'll refund me. Over two weeks later, no reply. I think these scum bastards are intent of keeping the money and hoping i'll forget about it. Time to take these guys to court!

Comments: Bought a graphics card off these guys. Spent a week trying to get a reply from them, it appears they never check their emails. Tried phoning them but their line was never up. In the end the card turned up in the mail, but it was a very frustrating purchase.

Would not recommend buying from supercheap pc.

and

Realkiller: SupercheapPC are alright if you go into the actual store (the service ain't so good but the prices are great)

If you go over online theres a VERY, and I mean VERY good chance that they'll screw you in some way or another.

Comments: First of all my impression was very good they responded within hours to my order, notifying me the product i wanted was in stock. But after i gave them money it took them a week after ringing them with no answer for them to email me back and say that the card was no longer in stock. Which was a lie because other suppliers told me they were.

So they offered me a different make of the product, which i declined and asked for my money back instead. They told me it would take 3-5 working days to refund my money, which is a little strange if you ask me. Well it has been 7 days since they sent me that email and i still have not recieved my refund.

I would recommend everyone stay clear of these guys. they are very slow to respond and never answer their phones, i have tried to ring them at least 10 times and still have not got hold of them by phone.

Do not buy anything from SupercheapPC, aka Supercheappc.biz, Super Cheap PC.

Update 23 May 2006
Eventually, after 6 months and with the help from Pricespy I did get the difference between the item I paid for and the item they shipped. Due to the fact that they obstructed me during all that time NZ Post wouldn't pay me the difference as it was past their own arbitrary 3 months time limit.
I originally took down this post since I was going to take them to the disputes tribunal, however the cost and effort involved was not worth it for what remained. As it was it took a heck of a lot of time and effort in getting what I did.
However I recently saw a thread on usenet about these shysters, and their continued behaviour, so I decided to put this post back up, and do my bit to warn people against buying from this scum.

Hey, sorry I'm not commenting on your post, but I'm doing a project on New Zealand for a geography class. I'm from the US, and I have to write an essay as though I lived in NZ, and I figured the best way to research that was through real people from NZ.
I don't expect you to write an essay for me (or even respond) but if you could, please just give me some basic things... popular bands, daily activities, sports, political views, etc.

Dear Jo,

NZ is a good place to live, mainly due to the lack of people from the US. Unfortunately with the warmongering people in charge there more and more refugees from that land have been landing here. best you talk about how there grandiose displays of patriotism are frowned upon, mcdonalds has to use meat from cows who live outside and eat grass, us cars are useless 'cos they have the steering wheel on the wrong side, you can't carry a gun in the street and people actually vote in elections.

All in all i think most people from the US would find it a rather hostile environment. Though i guess that's why they're coming.

You choose the lowest cost option, then complain about the service?
